Dear SPEC Members,
Firstly, happy new year. We’re going to keep this short and sweet. We know it seems the sport is in disarray and you’ve likely heard 7 million stories each changing constantly. To clear up a few things:
- There are Facebook groups running filled with members who know as much as you do. Many aren’t members and are just “stirring” the pot or getting wires crossed. In order for this to be a smoother transition for you can we please suggest, if you have any queries regarding registrations & memberships, you contact our Vice President Sam on sam@astafrica.com or 082 554 9681 (what’s app is preferred) so she can help you along. The information we have, she will give you.
- SAEF has confirmed that membership will be R200 including VAT this year. They are currently setting up their online system and we understand that the DAs will be collecting this fee. When we have more information we will share this with you.
- For the time being you need to register with your chosen discipline. SA Showjumping has set their fees for the year and you are able to see the fees and pay on their website (again, if you need some direction chat to Sam). Once you are paid up with your discipline you are free to enter shows.
- You will need to be a member of SPEC. We are currently finalising 2015 fees and will confirm with you within the next few days what these will be – we know the sport is expensive so we will do everything in our power to keep these as affordable as possible.
Chin up, it’s not all doom and gloom. The show will go on…..
