In 2003 Sunny Park was nothing more than a derelict piece of ground but over the years it has developed into the East Rand’s premiere location for expert equestrian tuition and livery care.
The yard caters for every level of rider – from young children learning the ropes to more seasoned equestrians wishing to compete at the highest level. Livery is available for both top competition horses and your trusty hacking companion.
Producing top sport horses is Nicola’s speciality. Following Sharp Colt’s success Nicola has gone on to produce 4 more open horses, two of which are currently jumping at international level. She has a handful of youngsters also moving their way up the grades and can be credited for many of her pupils’ successful mounts – which she has helped find and produce.
The dedication, determination and hard work from the team at Sunny Park ensure successful and happy riders and horses that enjoy a fun and safe environment while reaching their personal equestrian goals.
Much of the stable yard’s success can be attributed to its owner and resident instructor Nicola Sime. Not only is Nicola a qualified SANEF and FEI instructor, a National Equitation Judge and one of South Africa’s top show jumpers but she has also had tremendous success coaching many riders to open level.
Nicola’s own success in the show jumping ring began in 2004 when she started competing at international level with her horse, Sharp Colt. This partnership proved formidable over the years and the pair won many of South Africa’s highest show jumping accolades. An impressive feat considering Sharp Colt came to Nicola as a naughty four year old novice horse – which she was able to produce up the grades.
