[dropcap style=”font-size: 70px; color: #052b51; font-family: ‘Droid Serif’, Arial, sans-serif;”] T [/dropcap] he Sunny Park crew recently headed to the Shongweni Club in Durban to participate in the Nissan Winter Classic. Nicola drove a full truck down with Eastern Paradise, Reach for Gold, Connoisseur, El Paso, Crispin, Theron, Zuperstar, Secret Warrior, Fit Sports Lab State Secret, Fit Sports Lab Aurora and Locarno Chacoelo.
Brigitte Snyman, her parents Karen & Henning and their other daughter Alex, Sam Wright, Michelle Wilson, Katie & Gavin Richardson and their boys as well as Theron’s owner Kay Schoefield and Nicola’s husband Jason all made the trek to Shongweni to join Jan and Nicola.
A week of great riding and showjumping took place. For a full list of our results please visit our Facebook page. On behalf of all the Sunny Parkers we’d like to thank our fantastic grooms Brian, Madala and Patson who traveled to the show as well as Nicola’s apprentice Musa, who was also on hand to help. The show was beautifully organised and well run. Tons of fun was had by all, especially the little ones who could enjoy a dedicated kiddies’ play area.
We’d also like to say a big thank you to Winnstead stables for bringing Dice home for us (Nicola, of course, added two more horses to the float on the way back).
Here are some pics of the “social” side of Shongweni:
